GEM-GHANA’s Leatherwork Training Cohort 3, delivered in partnership with Mashaallah Leatherworks and GEM Skills Hub at Sagnarigu Kukuo, targets 10 trainees with one clear agenda: turn unemployment into production. This is not theory—it is hands-on training in crafting shoes, bags, wallets, and other marketable leather products within one intensive month.
The objective is blunt: equip young people with practical, income-generating skills and the discipline to build self-employment, not wait for jobs that may never come. Trainees receive technical instruction, mentorship, and exposure to real market demands—because skill without market relevance is useless.
The reality is this—youth unemployment persists not only from lack of opportunity but also from lack of usable skills.
GEM-GHANA is calling on NGOs, corporate institutions, and development partners to collaborate through funding, tools provision, and market linkages. If organisations are serious about reducing dependency, then investment must shift from talk to skills.
