Beneficiary of Leather Sandals Making Training Cohort-1

Sagnarigu Kukuo, Sagnarigu Municipal-Ghana

Before joining GEM-GHANA Youth Entrepreneurial Skill Training (YEST-Project) in 3-Months Intensive Leather Sandal Making Training Cohort-1, I depended entirely on others for survival. I had no employable skill and little hope for financial independence. After taking part in GEM-GHANA’s training programme, I gained practical skills that I can use to support myself.

Today, through GEM-GHANA's small grant support, I have a shop call Mashaallah Leatherworks, where I am able to produce leather items for sale, contribute to my own needs, and help GEM-GHANA to train more young women. This has improved not only my income but also my self-respect. GEM-GHANA gave me more than training; it gave me a path out of dependency. It gave me dignity.
